This data is a useful representation of the geometry and
topology of parcels contained within the data sets, including the
BLM PLSS on a section or quarter quarter basis and the Texas
Original Survey data, but its application is intended for
informational mapping purposes only in order to locate township,
section and range as used in the PLSS system. This data is limited
where the PLSS includes data mostly within states in
the western United States and the data set provided by
Texas Natural Resources Information System.
The data is not a substitute for a legal land survey and
should not be relied upon without confirmation from a legal
survey, title policy and boundary survey records as it may
contain errors and omissions.

Subsets of BLM data were used to generate data for this program.
In cases where the data was found to be inconsistent, incompatible,
or incorrect, these data sources were ignored. In cases
where there is a data discrepancy the official PLSS records
should be used. Additionally, certain polygons are
algorithmically generated using the outer bounds
from the PLSS data set. In all cases, this data is only
to be used for informational purposes and cannot and should
not be used as an official boundary without a formal
survey provided by a professional land surveyor.
Users of the PLSS data should realize that the data are
provided “as is”, and the U. S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM)
assumes no responsibility for errors or omissions. The User
assumes the entire risk associated with its use of these data.

over time. The data are not better than the original sources
from which they were derived, and both scale and accuracy may
vary across the data set and may not depict accurately on
the Service. These data may not have the accuracy,
resolution, completeness, timeliness, or other characteristics
appropriate for applications that potential users of the
data may contemplate. The User is encouraged to carefully
consider the content of the metadata
file associated with these data. These data are neither official
records, nor legal documents and must not be used as such.
Official records may be referenced at the BLM State offices.
Please report any errors in the data to the BLM office
where the lands are located.

Texas General Land Office and Railroad Commission of Texas
A “data set” is any set of information electronically generated or
stored by Railroad Commission of Texas (Commission) systems,
including, but not limited to, the Commission’s Geographic
Information System, Online Research Query System, or
Mainframe System. The digital map data available for purchase
was generated from the Commission’s Geographic Information System.
Base map information was obtained from U.S. Geological Survey 7.5
minute quadrangle maps. Patent Survey lines from Texas General
Land Office maps were interpreted onto the U.S. Geological
Survey base. Oil and gas well data and pipeline data were
obtained from public records at the Commission.
The data sets provided by this system are continually
being updated and refined and are provided as a public
service for informational purposes only.
They are not intended to be used as an authoritative public record
for any geographic location and have no legal force or effect.
Users are responsible for checking the accuracy, completeness,
currency and/or suitability of these data sets themselves.
The Commission specifically disclaims any and all warranties,
representations or endorsements, expressed or implied, with
regard to these data sets, including, but not limited to,
the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular
purpose, or non-infringement of privately owned rights.
Digital map data may not be used for pipeline
location purposes in lieu of calling an official notification
center prior to excavating. It is a violation of Texas
law to fail to make the required 8-1-1 calls.
